Just a bit of a warning… seems as though the new Droids from Verizon are having an issue with Zimbra, specifically truncated e-mails… This was a problem a few version back generally with Droids, but had been fixed… seems to have poped up again just for these new Verizon Droids..

So… A bug report has been opened:

Short Term Fixes:

• Set up you mail as an IMAP account, disabling ActiveSync for mail, and keeping it for calendar and contacts
• Goto http://zimbra.polestarnetworks.net/m and use the mobile web client with full access to mail/cal/contacts and more.  This is way more piratical with the Droids than the iPhone b/c the Droid lets you save your user/password… so with a bookmark to the above site, you can pop into the full mobile client easily… Even w/o this issue, if you haven’t checked out the mobile web client on your iPhone or Droid… plz do.. its very nice…

The Superior Group firewall will be offline 7/31/10 9pm EST – 8/1/10 6pm EST. The Polestar firewall will be offline 7/31/10 11pm EST – 11:45pm EST. Both devices will be receiving software and hardware upgrades. Access to Zimbra email, all websites, and shared files will be unavailable during the brief outage at Polestar

Wow… the Social Zimbra Zimlet is really cool… so cool, that… I decided to disable it for most of the domains… boy… what a time suck that Zimlet could be…

So… You have the link that describes it and if a “responsible party” for your domain says its ok, then great, we’ll enable… but I definatly put this in the “needs to be approved” column…

All the other Zimlets have been deployed…
